The Eternal Quest

  (Volume 1)

(This sacred satsang took place on Friday, November 11th, 2011, between 10 and 11pm at night. The session centered on the mystic-writer Tarashis Gangopadhyay as Seer, in the presence of many devoted seekers who placed their eternal quest before the author.)

Seeker:

Is this world but a tide of births and deaths, a wandering without end? Or does the hidden Hand of the Lord weave some deeper design?

Seer:

Creation is the play of the Infinite. The One, desiring to taste His own fullness, became many. From that Self-sundering arose worlds upon worlds. The soul was cast into bodies and veiled in Māyā, that through struggle it may awaken, rise, and return to God. Reunion is the secret purpose—separation is but the prelude to union.

Seeker:

How then shall the wanderer find the path home?

Seer:

Human birth is a lamp lit for God-realization. Live truthfully, injure none, let compassion be your breath. Seek silence, prayer, and meditation, until your heart grows ripe. When the soul thirsts deeply enough, the Guru appears—God wearing a human face.

Seeker:

Is the Guru other than God?

Seer:

Between the soul and God rolls the river of Māyā—its waters are desire, its roar is passion. The Guru is the bridge across. In his being, God takes form, guiding the seeker to the farther shore. To yield wholly to him—with body, mind, and word—is the first step of freedom.

Seeker:

Then human life is a rare jewel—meant not merely for survival, but for ascent. To cleanse oneself, to lift others, to remember our root in the Infinite. The Guru, mirror of God, leads us over the ocean of becoming. In this lies the soul’s true victory.

Seer:

Yes. To realize the Self as the Self of all—that is the summit. In that vision is bliss; in that bliss, one overflows into the world. Only there does human life blossom into its eternal meaning.
